Overview

Harbans is our Co-Director & Senior Solicitor here at HSBS Law. He holds periodic surgeries across both offices, where he assists with the overall management and supervision of the practise. He also acts as our firms Indian Law specialist and Notary public, where he has served the community for over 25 years.

Harbans also serves as a Senior Partner of a West Midlands based law firm. Here, he supervises the overall activities of staff and looks after the management of the firm’s two offices.

Harbans is fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Background

Harbans is a Law Graduate from London and was called to the Bar in 1975 by Grays Inn. He was admitted as an Advocate of India in 1980 and became a Solicitor in 1981, with a view to joining a law firm as a Partner. He was later appointed as a Notary Public in 1988.

Harbans specialises in a varied range of legal services including Immigration, Asylum, Nationality, Human Rights, Indian Law and Wills & Probate. He is also a criminal defence lawyer and has been a duty solicitor since 1986 on the Birmingham duty scheme rota.

He is a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and interpreting, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Chartered Management Institute

Outside of work

Harbans is a long standing trustee of a charity where he engages in various voluntary activities. He loves to get involved in his local community, where he also serves in an official and voluntary capacity at a range of various community organisations.

In addition to voluntary work, Harbans loves to read and possess a large collection of classic novels. He enjoys travelling the world and going for long walks in his home town.
